PROGRAM OBJECTIVE:
Designed for the student to get maximum exposure to all aspects of the restaurant while benefiting from the opportunity to integrate the theory and practice of each hourly workgroup.  The goal of our program is to provide an opportunity for restaurant students to experience The Cheesecake Factory culture and working environment.
 
DESCRIPTION:
Each internship position is tailor-made to fit the ability and interests of the student.  A customized training shell is created based on the interns previous experience. It may include (but is not limited to):

*Orientation with GM and EKM                                                                   
*Intro to Kitchen, Steward and Dish                                                              
*Kitchen Prep; Sauce, Production, Oven 
*Line - Broil
*Line - Pasta
*Line - Pizza
*Busser                                                                                                               
*Server
*Bar                                                                                                                       
*Bakery
*Food Runner                                                                                                     
*Front Desk

The intern will work in a different station each week concluding with a certification on each station. The daily schedule will include line checks, food reviews, staff alignment and attendance at weekly management team meetings. Each student will be mentored by a senior manager. 
 
LOCATION:
The student's preferences will be taken into consideration. The recruiter and hiring manager will determine the location for the internship.
 
TRANSPORTATION AND HOUSING:
Arrangements for transportation and housing are the responsibility of the intern.
 
COMPENSATION:
$10/per hour (except for tipped positions)
 
 
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
The student must have a positive demeanor displaying self confidence and a service minded attitude. They should also have an aptitude for  learning quickly, a willingness to be part of a team, exhibit a high work ethic and be persuasive.  
 
It is expected that each student:
  • Is entering his/her senior year
  • Is enrolled in Hospitality Management or Culinary Program
  • Is enrolled in a 2 year or 4 year degree program
  • Is open to relocate after graduation
  • Has scratch cooking experience (kitchen positions)
  • Has at least 1 year of full-service, high volume, hourly restaurant experience
  • Is available to work up to 37 hours a week (5 days with no overtime)
  • Has a GPA over 3.0
